Updates
I periodically prepare Updates to distribute to various people and places. These are some of those Updates.
May 14, 2004 As of May 14 the Great American Journey Team has walked 3,330 miles and have just passed through Albany, Georgia, and finished just west of Doerun on Highway 133. On May 9, 2004, the Team met President & Rosalynn Carter and had their picture taken with them. The Castle finally "gave up the ghost" and was sold in Albany, Georgia.
April 24, 2004 As of April 24 the Great American Journey Team has walked 3,149 miles and have just passed Wetumpka, Alabama (near Montgomery). The Team is progressing though Mississippi and Alabama. They expect to be in Alabama until about May 8. On May 9 they will be in Plains, GA, attending Sunday School taught by President Jimmy Carter. We are still trying to get an appointment set-up so they can pray with him.
March 20, 2004 Total mileage to date: 2,791.2 They have walked to Jackson, Tennessee. In two newspapers and on TV this week. On Thursday they are hoping to get a campsite around Corinth, Mississippi. Moving day(s) resulted in another day of RV repairs and another tow-truck friendship. Check out the route changes.

SUMMARY: Well, the Great American Journey team is moving right along. It was tough getting started again. They took two weeks to recover from their injuries, then finally got started walking again on February 24. Since then they have crossed through Arkansas, the boot heel of Missouri, the Mississippi River, Kentucky, and are now in Tennessee. During that time they have been interviewed by about seven local newspapers. We've only seen a couple of the stories, but many of the local people are reading them and are out cheering them on.
February 15, 2004 As of February 15 the Great American Journey Team has walked 2,517 miles and finished at Salem, Arkansas. After taking three weeks off for Christmas at Branson (and San Jose for Joni), the team has been plagued by sub-freezing temperatures, and resulting damage to the motorhome waterpipes and heater. The last week they have been recuperating from injuries.
January 20, 2004 As of January 20 the Great American Journey Team has walked 2,423 miles and finished at Walnut Grove, north of Springfield, Missouri. After taking three weeks off for Christmas at Branson (and San Jose for Joni), the team has been plagued by sub-freezing temperatures, and resulting damage to the motorhome waterpipes and heater.
December 5, 2003 The Team went to Colorado Springs for Thanksgiving. They are back on the road again. They completed the half way point for mileage on Friday, December 5. They finished today at Baldwin City, Kansas, with a total mileage to date of 2,137.
November 15, 2003 The Team spent most of the week camped at Cawker City, Kansas, and spoke to two kids clubs in Miltonvale, Kansas.
November 8, 2003 The GAJ Team completed Nebraska on November 7. 1,905 miles to date
