Naylor
faces charges of violation of probation Local
businessman Tommy Naylor was arrested last week for violation
of probation said Chester County Sheriff Mark Davidson.
Naylor, who was charged in March with possession of a schedule
II controlled substance and possession with intent to resell,
had been on probation in Henderson County due to a conviction
for aggravated burglary and theft in 1996.

undertake prayer walking journey Not every young
girl dreams of crossing the entire United States on foot, but
for Lyn Hanush, the dream has been 50 years in the making. As
a child, she remembers wanting to bike across the entire U.S.,
but over the years as her interests changed and her ideas came

Time
clocks considered for some school employees At the
regular meeting of the Chester County Board of Education on
March 25, members considered a proposed request to institute
the use of time clocks for non-professional employees. The
proposal came about because of the varied schedules that some

1,500
firearm safety kits to be distributed Chester
County Sheriff’s Department and Henderson Police Department
will provide 1,500 free firearm safety kits to local residents
through a partnership with Project ChildSafe, the nationwide
firearms safety education program.

County native named Chief Financial Officer at FedEx
Cathy Ross, formerly of Henderson, has recently been named
Chief Financial Officer for FedEx Express. Based in Memphis,
FedEx is the world's largest express transportation company,

Ford’s American journey Sheryl Ford arrived in
Chester County on Sept. 5, 2002. Leaving her home and family
in the Philippines behind, she’s had to grow up fast in order
to survive and prosper in this strange, new country. Now 23,
Ford views her future with optimism and counts her blessings

Adopt
a pet today The Henderson Animal shelter has four
dogs in need of good homes. One of those, an adorable puppy,
just arrived at the shelter Tuesday morning after being
abandoned near someone’s home. All are friendly, playful, and
eager for a family to take care of them.

hitters carry Diamond Eagles Losing eight seniors
off the 2003 Chester County High School baseball team has not
prevented the 2004 edition from early success. CCHS is 7-5 on
the year, and 1-1 in District 12-AA after splitting two games
last week with South Side.

Eaglettes
trounce locals; compete strong at Southaven The
Eaglettes softball team of Chester County High School had
little trouble disposing of two area teams last week before
going on the road for a tournament against some of the state's
best. CCHS made it as far as the semi-finals of a tournament
last weekend played at Southaven, Miss., and sponsored by St.
Benedict High School.

FHU
softball opens conference play with sweep A pair
of victories over Cumberland University Saturday got the
Freed-Hardeman Lady Lions off to a hot start in the TranSouth
Conference softball race. FHU is 2-0 in the league, 14-3-1
overall.
