GAP WALK JOURNALS - VII
Once he was out of sight I turned and walked to the Starbucks stand for my “comfort drink.” It was hard to see go again, but I knew he needed to finish up for several clients before we finish the walk. It is only because he’ll be finished with those that we can take a little longer to get home. So in three weeks he’ll be back and we’ll finish the walk, and head home the long way around.
Returning to the motel took about half an hour. Dave probably hadn’t even boarded his plane yet. I gathered my laundry, and headed for the coin laundry across the street and down about a quarter of a mile. After laundry I went to Wendy’s for some lunch, then back to the motel to do some stuff on the computer, sort and pack my clothes, and clean up some paperwork.
Then I had to take off to meet Bonny for dinner before going to a church nearby to share with them about the walk during their Bible Study time. I made a few wrong turns - so many of the turns are so close together that it’s hard to tell which one the GPS is talking about until right after it’s too late. That’s when she says, “Recalculating,” and you know you did it wrong.
Anyway, Bonny and I kept in touch and we eventually got together, ate the dinner she had already ordered, and took off for the church. Pastor Melvin had been informed we were coming in a little late. It was no problem. He just rearranged the schedule a little bit, then continued.
It was a very receptive audience, and I enjoyed sharing with them. At the end Pastor Melvin had me pray, then he prayed before they dismissed.
Bonny led me out of the hills where the church was, then I went the rest of the way with directions from Lady G. It was a great evening. Now it’s time for me to get to bed, so good-night all.
