We moved today to Aberdeen, Maryland, after taking our time
getting going this morning. We sat a little longer at breakfast
and talked, then went back to the room to pack up. We stopped
at the office to check out and say good-bye to the manager and
others.
It was almost 11 am when we actually drove off. I started out
driving as far as the Starbucks where we stopped walking
yesterday. After getting our drinks Bonny took over the driving,
and I did the navigating. We drove the route for the next three
days of walking, set our ending places for each day, and then
looked on the GPS for nearby lodging.
As usual we prayed for God’s guidance about the place we
would stay. And, of course, God chose a very good spot for us.
We are in the town of Aberdeen, Maryland, just off of I-95, and
not far from our walk route.
Bonny and I looked at the room before actually checking in, and
we love the set-up. It has a perfect desk for Bonny to set up her
office - with excellent lighting (our last place had very poor
lighting, but was otherwise very good). I could also set up my
desk with good lighting. Needless to say we did take this place,
and the price is still being negotiated with management. The
manager is out of town, so the girl at the desk did as much as
she could, then will ask the manager when she returns. We have
been so blessed by many motel managers who are very willing
to work with us since we are moteling it so much.
Once we got the room, and unloaded everything we set out to
get lunch and a laundromat. With our clothes washed we
returned to our room and put the clean clothes away, and set up
our offices. You should see the two of us at work here. We’re
quite a pair.
Now I have to make some phone calls, go get a bite of dinner,
and watch the Vice-Presidential candidates have their debate
tonight.
I’m also working on my itinerary and routing for the trip home,
and need to get that to a few people real soon, so that will take a
little time tonight as well.
For now I think that’s about it. Until tomorrow. . .
