GAP WALK JOURNALS - VII
Tuesday - September 16, 2008 Day 195 0.0 miles
Total New York miles - 33.2 Walking Days - 94
Washington D.C. miles - 4.6 Cumulative miles 1688.8
This will be another short journal entry. I stayed in most of the
day to work on the presentation for this week. I’m trying to
replace most of the pictures from the previous walk with
pictures from the present walk. It’s been fun, but it does take
time.
Norma called to let me know how her flight had gone Sunday.
After she talked with me the last time from the airport while she
was waiting to board, they received word that their plane was
delayed because of weather conditions. It was about 2 hours
late, causing a lot of missed connections in Denver (including
hers by about 2 minutes).
She ended up spending the night in the airport with a few others,
then flew the rest of the way the next morning. When they
arrived in San Jose her suitcase was nowhere to be found. As of
this morning there was still no word on the missing suitcase.
Ouch! She was getting ready to go to Kaiser to get refills on all
her medications that were inside the missing suitcase.
Just before noon housekeeping came to the door, so I went out
for lunch and got gas in the car while they cleaned and replaced
towels, etc.
When I came back I worked on pictures some more, and talked
with Marilyn on the phone. Then in the evening I got ready to go
to dinner with a gentleman from the church where we went on
Sunday. His wife is in the hospital. We had a good meal and
great fellowship.
Now I’m back in my room and about ready to head to bed. I
didn’t sleep well last night, so now I’m really tired, and should
sleep great tonight.
